Nature bathing - Čerťák reservoir, Nový Jičín
The reservoir "Čerťák" is located beside the main road leading from Nový Jičín to Kojetín, about 3 km south of the town. The area around the reservoir is a recreational area of the town Nový Jičín. It is a frequently-visited place, in summer it is a favourite recreational place for both the towns people and visitors.

The water reservoir Čerťák of an area of 3,5 ha was constructed on the Kojetín stream and serves maily for recreation, fishing, but it is also the home to many protected animal species.
Stop no. 5 - Under Svinec hill, Palacký nature trails
(altitude 408 m above sea level)
From this locality you can have a look at the picturesque landscape of the Štramberská upland which is the part of the Podbeskydská upland. You will find more detailed description of the landscape at the stop no. 7.
The water reservoir Čerťák of an area of 3,5 ha was constructed on the Kojetín stream and serves maily for recreation, fishing, but it is also the home to many protected animal species.
At the stop no. 5 you can follow the green tourist mark leading to the restaurant "Čertův mlýn" under the dam.
On the right side of the road, in direction to Kojetín, before turning to Čerťák, we will pass by the common maple tree, which belongs to the protected parts of the nature. The green tourist mark will lead us through Žilina and the Libotín forest to Mořkov. Under the dam we it is also possible to follow the blue tourist mark leading to Straník village, where the tourist path joins our nature trail. From the Čertův mlýn restaurant you can also set out on a trip to Straník and Hodslavice (non-marked path) through the valley of the Kojetín stream, so called "Butterfly valley".
In 1830 Jan Vahala was born in the Kojetín Mill (today's Čerťák), who was a smith, an improver of agricultural implements (mainly for ploughing). He obtained honourable mention for his inventions on many agricultural shows. He died in 1894 in Starojická Lhota where he has a memorial as well as Veverka brothers. It was the grange who had this memorial built up for them in 1884.
