Urban momunemts preservation area Žatec [ Městská památková rezervace ]

Žatec castle, to which the Romanesque town owes its existence, is mentioned between 1068 and 1116 in the Chronicle of Cosmos.
Among the important historic monuments are the town hall, the Deaconate Church of the Assumption, the town houses of the burgesses with their arcade, the medieval network of streets, the former castle (brewery), the deanery and the town walls.
