Urban monuments preservation area Domažlice [ Městská památková rezervace ]

The town was founded at the end of the 13th century by Přemysl Otakar II as a customs post with a border castle.
The historic core comprises the square, with medieval houses with Renaissance restorations and both Baroque and neo-classical facades.
The town is dominated by the cylindrical tower of the Deaconate Church of the Immaculate Conception, and the Chodský Castle with its towers. Other monuments preserved include part of the town walls with the lower gate and the southern postern.
