Maštaliska [ Country architecture ]
Maštaliska (a former mansion), the house No. 3, valuable architecture dating back to 1710, one of the last houses of the original housing of the Upper Square. Its today’s appearance is the work of the architects Michal Urbánek and Dušan Jurkovič from 1894.
In the front part of the ground floor a seigniorial taproom had been established, which was used as a hospital during the epidemic of cholera in 1831; in 1836 it was converted into clerks’ flats.
In 1893 - 1894 the facade was smartened up and battlements were added. Currently it is being reconstructed.
