Welcome at the pages of Folklore Assotiation of the Czech Republic

The Folklore Association of the Czech Republic (FoS ČR) is a nongovernmental organisation made up of dancers and musicians active in the country´s Folk ensembles. Since its foundation in 1990 the CFA has become a prominent cultural body, currently representing some 13500 members in 395 member ensembles and 17 regional associations. It plays its role in many actual Events, to be specific some 44 Folk-art festivals and rural celebrations across the Czech Republic.

Czech, Moravian and Silesian Folk-art festivals and rural celebrations are renowned world-wide for their longserving tradition, variety of programme, breadth of participation by children, youngsters and adults alike, richness of folk-costume, musicality and spectacular dancing. These festivals are much frequented by local and foreign visitors. As part of the programme of certain festivals, vistors can learn about traditional folk arts, crafts an local cuisine. Our festivals have lately been attracting folk ensembles form around the world.
